Excel Experts?
How good does one need to be in Excel to call
themselves an Excel expert
?
I see sites where someone with 2 to 3 years Excel experience
calls themselves an Excel Expert. These are often people that use
Excel in their daily duties, but that may not be daily development
experience. They may simple be using Excel files either built be
themselves or by someone else, but they are not making changes to
the structure of the file. Are they not possibly just power users,
if even that? What do you think?
How much time, and what aspects of Excel does someone need to
posses before they can call themselves an Excel Expert?
Please post your ideas and thoughts.

Another testimonial:
Thank you for completing our recent automation project on
schedule. The database we maintain contained a field of data that is
created from our order entry program. The mixed data within that
field prevented us from electronically capturing it and creating an
internal report that is key to the production of our magazine. This
internal report is used daily by everyone in our organization and
also forms the basis for submitting, on a weekly basis, our files to
the printer. Prior to your involvement, we produced that report
manually which made meeting our production deadline unnecessarily
stressful and labor intensive. Your knowledge of Microsoft Access
and Excel enabled the “mining” of our database to create that
internal report electronically on a real time basis as the order
entry program is posted.
I am very pleased with the result as is the owner of the company.
You nailed it. The report is 100% accurate due primarily to your
creativeness and quality of service. I appreciate your dedication to
the project by sticking with it until it was completed successfully.
I highly recommend Ruel’s services at Excel and Access LLC, and look
forward to working with him in the future. Thank You.

A recent testimonial:
This is a note to thank you for all of your insights today in
showing me how to solve my Excel problem. I had presented the same
problem to a team of Excel experts on another website, and they
spent all day and could not come up with the solution you showed me
in 20 minutes. And the thing I really appreciate is that you stayed
with me as I went through the steps again and again until I really
had it down. You have the temperament to be a wonderful teacher, and
I really appreciate your efforts. Best wishes,

Today's post - Websites.
What websites do you like best?
I am looking at Excel and Access websites and Blogs to see who
has the best look and who has the best content. Right off the bat,
Experts Exchange, OzGrid, and Mr Excel come to mind for their
content.
What sites do you like best, and why?
Another question, are you a contributor on Experts Exchange and
if so what is your ranking?
Do you have a site of your own, if so, what is your URL?
Please respond, and let’s make this a good post. Share your
ideas, interests, and knowledge.

Experts-Exchange.Com is a great site, my

Helen Feddema. Here is what they say about Helen, one of my team's
amazing Access developers.

capture how thankful we are in words, we will try...
Thank you for sharing your unparalleled, inconceivable, and

12/15/2009 A new testimonial at Excel and Access, LLC
I was in a very bad situation and desperately needed some help
with an excel file. A partner company we work with needed some data
from us and needed it prepared in a specific way. We had no idea how
to do that and neither did our partner company. We were almost in
tears. We used Google to find Excel and Access LLC. They quickly got
us in touch with Ruel. Ruel listened to what we needed and provided
a very simple formula to help us easily manage our 5,000+ rows of
excel data. He was patient and explained things to us slowly. Thank
you Ruel! We look forward to telling everyone we know about your
great service!!! Posted at 03:00 PM | Permalink | Comments (0)

12/11/2009 A recent testimonial at Excel and Access,
LLC
It was great to have someone be excited to help me as both Ruel
and Christopher were. The prompt replies, polite telephone
conversations, and ease of use were second to none.
The speed and expertise of this company is amazing.
I initially emailed three Excel consultant companies, Christopher
contacted me, Ruel helped me, and no other company has even
responded yet. And as for Ruel, he makes this stuff look so easy.
Ruel is very gifted and cordial.
I will definitely be back!

A Great Excel Resource Site – ExcelHints.Com – Take a look!
http://excelhints.com
Ask Your Questions to Excel Hints I receive questions all the
time from readers of excel hints, both through the contact form as
well as questions posted in the comment sections of posts. So let’s
start sharing some of these with everyone.
Going forward, I would like to work together with the readers of
Excel Hints to make this a better site. If you have a question that
the other readers can benefit from, I will post the question and
answer as a post on the site (if you would like to remain anonymous,
no problem). I receive many great questions all the time that I
actually have to do some research to answer – so I figure, why not
share this with everyone. I’m sure if one person asks it, several
other’s out there have the same issue. So please don’t hesitate
to ask any questions you might have, no matter how big or small, and
let’s keep building Excel Hints as the place to get Excel
answers. Some ideas for questions include: • VBA •
Userform • Functions • Formulas • Controls • Macros •
and much more… Alright, now start asking your questions through
our contact form! ShareThis Random Posts • Working with
Userforms Part 1: Hello World! Button • Sum Values in a Range

NYPC ACCESS SIG - Check this out!
The NYC Access SIG helps Access users (from novice to
professional) get the most out of Access through sharing current
methods and techniques. The SIG usually meets the first Monday
every month, except during mid-Summer. On occasion the SIG
participates in joint meetings with companies or organizations whose
work involves Microsoft Access. Meeting Notice
Time: Monday, December 7, 2009 at 6:30 PM Place: Microsoft

renowned author and authority on MS Access, and a regular
contributor to Pinnacle’s Smart Access and Office Developer
journals. She edits the Woody’s Access Watch e-zine and writes its
"Access Archon" column. Ms. Feddema’s writings and seminars have
been helping Access developers since the beta of Access 1.0, one of
many she has tested. Topics: Ms. Feddema will talk about the new
section she just wrote that will be in the 2nd edition of her
e-book, Working with Word (this e-book is about using Access data to
create various sorts of Word documents). Earlier sections of this
ebook make use of Word templates which have been copied to a
Templates folder. None of us would have problems with unzipping a
set of templates to the correct location, but when you deliver an
application to someone else, there can be problems. I have spent a
good deal of time on the phone, or online with a remote access
program, unzipping templates and selecting the template folder from
the main menu of an Access database on someone else's computer. The
new section describes an alternate method of working with Word
templates -- the templates are stored in an OLE Object field (for
Access 2003 or earlier) or the new Attachments type field (for
Access 2007 or higher). The templates are extracted from the field
as needed, and stored in the default Templates folder, and the
documents are created in the current folder. Users don't need to
unzip templates and place them in the correct folder, or even to
know where they are, which saves a lot of trouble.

12/07/2009 The team at Excel and Access, LLC –
continued.
Last time I discussed Ruel, my lead Excel and Access
developer.
Today I will discuss Jeff, one of my best Excel, Access, and SQL
Server developers. Jeff is the most experienced developer on my
team. Jeff is also the one that can solve the most difficult
challenges. If I had to ask one person to find a solution to a
complex problem it would be Jeff. Jeff loves a challenge and will
not give up until the solution has been found.
I love working with Jeff, as so my clients. Jeff is a joy to work
with. Jeff has a great outlook on life and on work. Jeff can easily
get me to laugh at the worst of times.
Jeff’s VBA is top notch, some of the best I have ever had the
opportunity to see.
Jeff has been with me for a long-time. Jeff does not want to work
40 hours a week for 52 weeks, but prefers to take projects here and
there. If he worked 40+ hours he would be a lead developer as well.
Jeff is really really good, and Jeff is great with the clients.
If you need help with Excel, Access, Word, SharePoint, SQL
Server, MySQL, or VBA, Jeff is a great choice.

Office 2010
If you have not heard, Office 2010 will be released soon. My
question today is have you tried the beta version, and if so, what
did you think? I have not tried it.
Is Office 2010 strictly a revenue generator for Microsoft or is
this really a new and improved product? 2007 had some significant
advancement over 2003, especially in Excel. What can Microsoft do
with 2010 to make it worth the expenditure? Will Access allow you to
exceed the 2 gig barrier?
Given my line of business, I am an Excel and Access Consultant; I
will have to have it on at least one machine. But for
non-developers, programmers, and consultants, is is worth the time,
effort, and cost?
Please let us know what you think. I look forward to hearing from
you.

Meet the Team of Experts @ Excel and Access,
LLC® ________________________________________
At Excel and Access, LLC I do not work alone. Instead I have a
team of Full time Professional Freelance Excel and Access
Programmers, Consultants, and Developers working with me at my firm.
This is some of the best talent in the country.
Each team member is both an Excel Expert and an Access Expert.
Plus working in one or more other applications such as Word,
Outlook, SQL Server, or Oracle.
I want to highlight each of the primary team members in detail.
You can use the link below to learn more about the entire team.
http://excelandaccess.com/The%20team%20at%20excel%20access.htm
My current team of primary developers is as follows, Ruel, Helen,
Jeff, John, and Myself. Each of them are exceptional. Jeff has been
doing this longer than anyone on the team and is a crowd favorite.
Helen writes books on Access, Outlook, and Word. Ruel does things in
Access that I have not seen before. I have known John for a while
now and he is the newest team member. I also have several other
developers/associates that work with me and my clients.
Today I will start with my Lead Excel and Access Developer, Ruel.
Ruel has been with me for a long time and he is nothing short of
amazing. Ruel is the most active developer on my team, and sleep is
not something he gets much of. I love Ruel and he is as much of a
friend as a team member. Sometimes I think I talk with Ruel more
than I do with my wife. Ruel spends as much time with me as he does
with his clients. That is one of the reasons they come back again
and again. He is a great developer form all angels.
Ruel is the Lead Excel and Access Developer. Ruel takes many of
the most challenging and detailed projects. Ruel works at the Expert
level in both Excel and Access and is a master and integrating the
two into one seamless project.
Ruel is the Hired Gun! Ruel Served our Country, now here to serve

Instead of my saying several nice things about Ruel and the work
he does I will let several of his most recent client testimonials do
the speaking for me. They are below:
------------ I was looking for looking to get some help in VBA
excel project online and came across Excel & Access Experts
(Excel and Access, LLC). Christopher and Ruel were very professional
and friendly on the phone, hence I decided to go ahead with their
services. I would like to emphasize that they exceeded my
expectations in every possible way. Without a second thought they
are the experts in excel, access and database system. There innate
passion to excel at the task has created a very positive impression
on me. I am glad I decided to work with them, as I can only see this
as a beginning of a relationship with them.
I highly recommend their services to anyone who wants to get
their job done in a very professional manner, within deadlines and
with no surprises.
VP, Operations - Television Industry -----------
I just wanted to thank you both, Christopher and Ruel for making
my problem with Excel into a quick solution. You both offered your
best advice and testimonial in consulting my needs to find the best
solution for my problem and worked with me to find the most
appropriate solution and process to go about doing so. It worked
exactly as described and was done in a timely fashion just as
promised. Ruel also explained the solution when it was finished and
showed me how to use it in the future. The solution is just what my
organization was looking for and was completed much quicker than if
we had to do it ourselves. I just wanted to thank you again and let
you know we will definitely keep you in mind for future projects
because of the convenience and overall great experience it was
working with you.
Thanks again,
Dan Blau Knowledge Anywhere, Inc.
------------
Let me first thank for the great effort you have put in this
project. I really appreciate it. The first I met my advisor at 2:30
PM today, I told him that I would come later to show him the
application. And yes he reviewed the program and there is nothing to
say except how great the work is even though it was not completed
yet.
Naif Saud
------------
I worked with several professionals and even with offshore
freelancers. I think I got best bang for the buck working with you.
I could not expect anything more than what I got. Overall I think
you guys did best. A very good Value. I would put you 10 out of 10.
My only concern is ongoing maintenance of the tool (if there are any
issues or it breaks down etc) but I am confident that Ruel will help
out as he takes pride in his work ------------
Christopher:
The Project is complete and I just want to say what a pleasure it
was to work with Ruel. I appreciate his knowledge and
professionalism around completing what equated to a very small,
simple project for someone of his caliber. In addition, he impressed
upon me that he was giving it the same attentiveness that he would
have for a major corporate client with a huge project. That really
struck home with me. Thanks so much!
Mike ------------
My experience with Excel & Access Experts was undoubtedly a
very great one. Both Christopher and Ruel were very helpful from the
very beginning. Ruel whose hard work and acceptance to so many
changes I added to the data made the impossible possible. I am
really satisfied with the final project and I would recommend anyone
who needs any kind of assistance in excel or access to contact Excel
& Access Experts. If it hadn't been for the hard work of Ruel, I
would not have the great results for the project. So, thank you Ruel
and thank you Christopher for everything.
